Blink-182 just announced they are headlining the 2011 Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance and support on select dates: Manchester Orchestra, Matt and Kim, Rancid and Against Me!

In 2009, Manchester Orchestra completely destroyed any fears of having a “sophomore slump” with their second release, Mean Everything to Nothing. The record was hailed as one of the year’s best, drawing numerous comparisons to bands such as Nirvana and Built to Spill. Mean Everything to Nothing was a sonic assault, with every song flowing in and out of one another, illustrating lead songwriter Andy Hull’s message of desperation and disappointment. If Everything was a gripping novel, then the Atlanta band’s new effort, Simple Math, is a moving collection of short stories. Despite having been recorded only months after touring on Everything ended, Simple Math is a very different kind of record, in both lyrical content and overall flow. However, it is still an engaging and powerful listen, solidifying why Manchester Orchestra are a band that is here to stay.
