Common Revolt had the pleasure of speaking with This Providence drummer Andy Horst recently. They are currently on the road with Go Radio on the Lucky Street tour.
We discuss the band’s return to touring, departure from Fueled By Ramen, upcoming music, and more. Head below to check it out.
The Lucky Street tour is your first since the “Bout Damn Time” headliner in 2010. How excited are you to get back out there and play new shows?
Super excited. We we’re home over two years from the end of our headliner. We actually went to Australia in September and did two weeks there, but other than that we haven’t played at all. At first we were all like, “Oh crap! I don’t know how to do this anymore” but now that we’re out here, we’re just stoked to be playing again.
Was it relaxing to finally have some downtime after a long time of constant touring?
Yes, very. We toured about 14 months straight on out last record cycle with small breaks in between. After that we we’re pretty exhausted and just wanted to sit back. When you’re on tour all the time, you don’t really get to keep your relationships at home. It’s too much work for both sides and you end up losing a lot of friends, so it was good to be home and reunite with all of your friends. I got married, Dan bought a house, we all just had to catch up on the last few years of our life, which was awesome.

We wish the band the best! As an apology to fans, they have released three acoustic tracks for free HERE.
